Expert neuro rehabilitation and complex care for people with
acquired brain injuries or long-term neurological conditions
QEF’s Care and Rehabilitation Centre is a Level 2B Community Neuro Rehabilitation Centre, based near Leatherhead, Surrey. Led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, they provide intensive and slow stream neuro rehabilitation as well as complex neurological care for up to 48 resident clients.
Our expert teams support people to regain core skills following an acquired brain injury, stroke or spinal injury. They also support people with long-term neurological conditions to optimise their potential.
Referrals are through the NHS, case managers or personal injury solicitors, and they support adults with physical, cognitive and/or communication disabilities which may also include mild to moderate behavioural problems.
We work closely with families and everyone involved with an individual’s long-term rehabilitation, helping them with the transition out of our service. Our services are also available on a day and outpatient basis.

Partnership working
NHS
We work in partnership with NHS acute and primary care trusts across the South of England. Clients have access to our unique concentration of specialist therapies and nursing care as part of their rehabilitation journey. Working with the Early Supported Discharge, Community and Re-enablement teams as required, we then facilitate their discharge home or to another suitable destination to continue their rehabilitation.
Partnerships
We work closely with Chroma, Headway Surrey and The Stroke Association in Surrey to support clients with planning for discharge and to ensure they are connected with organisations that can offer advice and support.
Measurable results
We measure and record the progress of every client; comparing their capabilities on arrival to those on discharge.
"When I came to QEF I was in a good place for rehabilitation. I have been mainly focused on my walking here. I couldn’t bend my knee properly, I was carrying my leg out to one side. The physio has been really good, especially the body strengthening exercises they’ve been awesome."
Julian, a CRC client
